what are the requirements to Skate with you?

You must be 18+ ... open to getting involved in Roller Derby... and don't be a dick ... that's it! 

When do you train?

We train on Sunday mornings. Depending on your level you will be in Main Training or Intro. We split our training into two halves to accommodate these levels but also have an All Levels session that has different goals for us all to train together, whether that be fitness or general team building. 

Main Training - 10am to 11.45am

All Levels - 11.45am to 12.15pm

Intro - 12.15pm to 1.30pm

Where do you train?

We are based in Medway, Kent. Due to the nature of school halls we have a couple of venues.

do I need Skating Experience?

No! We accept skaters of any ability and as part of our Introduction to Roller Derby or Intro team you will be guided by our coaches and skaters on how to skate to build your confidence and abilities.

How much does it cost?

Your first session is FREE. After this we ask you pay a monthly dues amount which depends on what level you are skating with us. These payments are made to our team bank account, the dues cover the cost of our hall hire, equipment, insurance and supporting the league. As a league we want to make sure Roller Derby is accessible and therefore as part of our team values we also have a Pay What You Can Policy that can be discussed with our finance team as part of your Membership. Our standard dues are:

Main Dues - £35 a month

Intro - £20 a month

What equipment do i need?

Flat Track Roller Derby is a full contact sport on roller skates, this means having a pair of quad skates and wearing full protective gear. We require all skaters to wear a helmet, elbow pads, wrist guards and knee pads. If doing full contact you will also need a mouthguard. We can loan equipment for those that don't have these items until you are ready to commit to buying your own. We don't loan mouthguards, we love our team mates but not that much.

Why not consider joining as a Roller Derby Official! Roller Derby is not possible without an amazing officials team, this includes Skating Officials and Non Skating Officials.
